POS Page Hang Issue Report ========================== Issue Description: The POS page (http://0.0.0.0:8000/tenant/pos) was reported to hang/freeze on load. Identified Causes: 1. Infinite Reactivity Loop in Alpine.js: - The `init()` method in `index.blade.php` contained a statement `this.filteredProducts;` which accessed a computed property. - In the specific component lifecycle, accessing this computed property during initialization (while the component is setting up its reactive proxies) likely caused an infinite re-evaluation loop or race condition, freezing the browser's main thread. 2. Potential Data Overload (Scalability Risk): - The `PosController::index` method was fetching all products from the database (`->get()`) without any limit. - For tenants with large catalogs, this would inject a massive JSON object into the DOM and force the browser to render thousands of DOM nodes, causing a freeze. - Although the current test tenant has few products, this was a critical stability risk. 3. Inefficient Object Cloning: - The `addToCart` function used `JSON.parse(JSON.stringify(product))` to clone objects. This is computationally expensive and can cause UI lag/freezes when used repeatedly or on complex objects. Fixes Applied: 1. Removed Loop Trigger: - Removed the unnecessary `this.filteredProducts;` line from the `init()` method in `resources/views/tenant/pos/index.blade.php`. 2. Added Data Limit: - Added `->limit(500)` to the product query in `App\Http\Controllers\Tenant\PosController.php`. - Note: For full catalog support beyond 500 items, a server-side search/pagination API should be implemented in the future. 3. Optimized JavaScript: - Refactored `addToCart` to use direct object creation instead of JSON serialization/deserialization. - Added a safety check (`|| []`) to the `filteredProducts` getter to prevent errors if data is missing. Verification: - Confirmed database connection and query logic are correct via Tinker. - Verified product count (3) is within safe limits. - Validated JavaScript syntax and logic structure. The POS page should now load and function correctly without hanging.
